System Monitoring: The 10005/ 1/ 1 module mainly concerns the running status of the system. ** Measuring some parameters (like the maximum or minimum execution time of the application loop) barely can prove that a given process executes the program without looping or bypassing its block of a program. Also, there are checks of the 5V DC voltage (overvoltage and undervoltage [5V DC ± 5%]); memory error logic that runs on the CPU, COM and MEM modules.
Auto restart: Upon fault or unresponsiveness of the system, the module fails to receive "feed dog" signal and starts a restart with a timeout option hard-coded at boot. This returns operating conditions back to normal, ensuring stability and reliability.
ESD protection: Watchdog output may be de-energized by ESD inputs, independent of the processor. 5V DC internal bus is electrically isolated from the 24V DC inputwill also help against ESD burnout events— see image below.
Jumper Settings: The 10005/1/1 module can be configured in different ways using its jumper settings. For instance, when a manual start command is always a must, solder jumper SO3 on position 1 is acceptable. When the jumper is on position 2, it is applicable for hot start applications (start automatically after the application is turned on), but requires a manual reset command (even after systems that have reached the trip)
